What it is
Satu Sonkamuotka massages dogs and treats them with low-level laser therapy, on home visits around Jyväskylä, alongside her work as a nurse. The site is her whole shopfront. It has to carry what she offers, what it costs and how to reach her.
The brief
The site must resemble her personally.
That was the whole requirement. Not a clinic, not a company, nothing flashy. So the site is soft and quiet. No gradients, no animation, a sleeping dog in outline, and photographs of her own dogs rather than stock. I checked every decision against whether it felt like Satu rather than against a UI convention.
How it's built
Nuxt, because the content changes rarely and a static build keeps hosting cheap and fast. Tailwind for the styling. Nuxt UI is the odd one out. My own site does not use it, so the cards and checklists you're looking at right now are rebuilt by hand in plain Tailwind to match the ones on her site.
Under the hood:
- Nuxt 4 with Vue 3
- Tailwind CSS 4
- Nuxt UI 4 for components
- @nuxtjs/sitemap
- Deployed with nixpacks
- Node 22
